Everytime I replace the cap after checking the coolant level it always leaks. Took me 3 attempts to stop it leaking. Does anybody else have the same problem? Or is it just a TVR thing. There is always coolant in the expansion tank but I know you should check the level in the swirlpot. I have now got 2 pieces of innertube as well as the normal rubber to stop it leaking, by the way its turned on very tightly, and the top of the swirlpot is smooth and flat.

Try just bending the tabs on the cap slightly with a set of pliers it can help pull the cap on tighter.

I assume you have the correct cap on the swirl pot and the expansion tank winkgetmecoat

is it an original swirl pot? some of the reproduction stainless ones have very weak necks made of super thin brass / bronze. These poor necks deform easily and cause issues. The original necks are much better. Some gentle adjustment can help form a decent seal.

Mine has a stainless neck I found after a long hunt. The guys now sells them on ebay. Have to be tig welded carefully though.
