I've just become the new owner of one 1987 S1, the targa roof panels are pretty beat up (the rear soft top section is good) and I am looking at options to retrim them.
I've read various items on here and understand that the material, seals etc can be bought and its something I could take on myself however the underside/inside of the panels look all wrong, they are trimmed in vinyl which is hanging loose in the centre, its attached at the sides, would someone be good enough to send me a picture of what it should look like and advise if the vinyl I have is correct.

Hi and welcome to S ownership and this wonderfully informative forum. You are, according your profile quite well up north so all the jokes about not using a roof much, may not be appropriate. Give me a moment and I will upload some photos . I must say, your Mercedes looks superb ! I have one on my wish list.

Thanks' Mike, The Merc replaced a Cerbera a couple of years back which much as I loved it it was driving me daft with fueling / timing issues, I was going to stick in the corner of our garage and buy an early SL55 however when I found this one I really wanted it and to make the numbers work the Cerbera had to go!

The Mercedes is a great car, fast comfortable, easy to drive but once its clean you can't do much more than keep it that way, the S I expect will let me get my fingers dirty most weekends - its been a well looked after car but of course as a new owner you quickly come up with a list of 'improvements'

I would like to replace a VW Jetta that Does everything very well without drama, but doesn't light the excitement, but cannot sell the TVR.

Thanks' looks like the four corner fixings in mine have just gone astray somewhere hence the saggy underside, the roof not mine!
