If I were getting a box sorted it'd get a set of closer ratios from quaife or tranx or similar

but in the "short term" and if it is that serious and you need something a bit urgent I have a spare box here, part dis-assembled but I believe was ok,(I just borrowed some bits from it)

The vast majority of Type 9's on ebay are from 4 cylinder Fords and no good for our V6 engined cars (not just ratio's, they don't fit)

Cheers philpott. I'm going to try a local reconditioner 1st and see whether he can do it quick if we get it out? If not I'll then consider my options.

Bstd it is!

Am I right in thinking the only type 9 that fits our V6 cars is the one used in the 3ltr Capri?

Type 9 it is. Diagnosis in the morning. Not sure I need a long 1st. 5th could handle a bit more for cruising but is prefer a 5 speed and overdrive. Just love overdrives 😍

Not trying to be pedantic but it would have been the 2.8 Capri and quite possibly some 2.8 or 2.9 Granada's although most were probably automatics and thinking about it 2.9's may have moved onto the MT75 box?

EASY TO SPOT THE DIFFERENCE
TYPE 9 (with afterthought 5 gear segment and looks like its made of bits and pieces)

MT75 looks like all one thing with loads of ribs

Lols sometimes safari and pistonheads don't get on... Apologies smile

When do you hope to get the t9 back in..?

They are probably not needed and you wouldn't see once fitted so not much bling value but Quaife and tran x do some cool looking reinforcing inspection plates for the t9.
