I will be arriving at Tescos next to junction 10 of the M20 by 17.30 on Thursday. After filling with fuel I suggest we leave by 17.45. Check in for the 18.50 train closes at 18.20 so we'll have plenty of time, especially as previous experience has shown the tunnel will be very quiet then.

Local arrival time is 20.25 so by 20.26 we'll be at the hotel and 20.27 in the bar beer

I am now hopeful we can make the same train at you guys (6.50pm). I am collecting Mark from Folkestone Central station at 5.38pm and we will head straight to the terminal.

Longers - I don't think we will have time to double back to Tescos at Ashford. Is there somewhere else we could meet you (I'll PM you my mobile if you wouldn't mind replying with yours?). If Mark doesn't arrive on the 5.38pm he will be on the 6.06pm which makes it tight for the 6.50pm Eurotunnel (but not impossible?).

Hi Stuart

There's no point going back to Ashford so go straight to the tunnel and get checked in.

If you've not been before, after check in & security you drive through the car park for the cafe/toilets/shops etc before you get to the lanes where you queue to board. If Mark is on the 5:38 we'll probably be arriving at that car park at about the same time so we'll wait there until we are called to board. I'll be grabbing something from there or Tescos to eat on the train. At that time on Thursday it will be quiet and it's not a big car park so we'll easily see / hear each other!

It's about 10 mins from Folkestone station (may be more at that time of day?) to the tunnel so if Mark is on the later train it will be very tight because check in for the 18.50 closes at 18.20... If you're not there for the 18.50 we'll see you barside in France wink
