Does this mean you'll be on S-Club Tour in 2015 with this mildly fettled S?

Hope so, Got the windscreen from Ducan, whot a nice chap he is, a bit of work to do to make it a perfect fit, a bit of a gap at the bottom but should be able to fill out. one side is a bit tight and one side is a bit high.
All in all a good fit, I think if Duncan had 10 with him I don't think we would have a better fit to start from.

With the best will in the world, it won't be perfect. But with Dunc 'pudding' on the job, it won't be far off.

The majority of these I've done have been done by the insurance 'approved' firms and they've ranged from poor to shocking. IMHO, they're just not equipped/experienced enough to understand what it takes to make one of these look like it grew there!

One of the "Big National " companies fitted my replacement windscreen, it took 2 of them 3 1/2 hours to get the old one out, and another 1 1/2 hours to fit the new one with dollops of sealer to compensate for a variation in shape. It looks fine now but the 3 other people they were booked to do windscreens for probably were not so happy.

This is how the car was handed back to its owner after the SECOND attempt to tidy up the backfill:

No excuse:

They'd also slashed the dash covering with a blade. The superglue repair did just about enough to disguise the three-inch gash.

Tell your insurer that you will be nominating your own repairer. If this is not something your insurer will allow, go elsewhere.

Hi All and Glassman.(Paul)
I still have to paint so any mod's are easy to do right now, I have to fill the bottom in by 4mm to give a 5mm gap all around for the sealer, one side needs a bit sanding out so I have a gap of 3mm glass clearance and the other is about 2mm higher than the glass, all in all not bad, just a bit of sanding.
I am sure when Duncan has installed the screen it will be perfect, It's a 1988 Fiberglas car, it's not going to be as it left the factory, Fiberglas changes over time, It's always going to be a compromise.
Will be the best it can be and that will just have to do.

I recognise that car!

Cannot recommend glassman highly enough. He spent countless hours getting the job right. I wouldn't use anyone else.

Hi All
Don't know if trying another make would have been a better fit , I could have tried another 10 and still not got a perfect fit, I was lucky as Duncan could see where I needed to finesse a bit of the frame to get a good fit. Doing a bit of work now before its painted hopefully will make it easier for Duncan when he fits the screen for me.
