Why was the roof on though

Hi Stew, roof on jobby as I had 120 kilos of tile adhesive in the boot and other building materials inside the car , as well as the usual junk you carry... Where I'm working at the moment , trying to find parking for lwb van is a lottery .. The S can squeeze into the tightest of spaces ....who needs power steering !

A few years ago I bought a carpet, 12 X 12 feet, I had it cut into two pieces 12 X6 and then rolled up. Dark blue axminster to do my S, I put both rolls in the passenger footwell and had to remove the roof to accommodate the carpet. I then drove from Wilton near Salisbury to Cardiff I got a lot of bemused looks, an S with two carpets poking out over the rear hood. I should have taken a pic, but never thought of it.
