This came with my blue car, but I have no idea how it's supposed to fit? I've tried lots of different positions, but it doesn't look right. It is made of the same fabric as the hood, but maybe it's for another car altogether? I'm tempted to throw it out, but thought I'd ask if anyone recognises it.

Cheers,
David

From the photo I can't be sure of the size..... But it looks a similar shape to my spare wheel cover that goes around the space saver in the boot.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that it is the width of the car, ruffled and elasticated at one end, has straps at the other. Looks like a tonneau but I can't figure out how it should work.....

Straps go over door mirrors..? Then see where the back end goes, could be a simple shower cover of sorts..

Hi David, be interested to find out what you eventually learn about it. It is obviously something we all need, but do not yet know it!

That's my guess. Handy to keep the sun off your leather at shows and popping down to the shops

Maybe Phillpot's sister will run one off for him laugh

From the shape it looks like a spare tyre cover to me

I guess it might be a poorly fitting sun hat? The straps are a tad short to go around the mirrors, possibly because of the roll bar? If it did fit, I think it would be handy

Yay! After emailing the pic to my ipad, then rotating twice, I think I've got it up the right way!

I think the flap at the front is supposed to sit on top of the dash, with the windows down. Possibly it's for another car without headrests (so it's supported by the seat tops) but definitely not with a roll bar. I don't think it's designed to be as the picture.

Have you tried it with the rear section raised, loops connected to wipers, mirrors, sun visors?

I tried fiddling around with the cover again yesterday. When I rested it on the dash it would just fall down again because the straps were too loose, and with the rear up there was nothing for the elasticated section to hold onto. I think it must be for another car, maybe just a sun shade but it is very heavy fabric that would keep the rain off if it fitted the way I have it in the picture.

I think I'll pack it when I'm too lazy to carry the roof sections. It probably won't work well at all, but it will give me some peace of mind.
