Clutch slave cylinder has gone up the spout, is it worth replacing the seals, or its it better to fit new one. If the later, what make?, where from?, how much?? My bust one is Girling Q144 - 74660035? if that makes sence. Cheers.

when my seals went i ordered a new one from peninsula but found it wouldn't fit ,and had to be ground down to make fit as the side catches on the bell housing ,
so i replaced the seals on my existing one instead about a year+ ago and no fluid loss ,also it is worth doing the master cylinder at the same time ,which i didn't do and six months later i had to change the seals on that also .

I wouldn`t mess with changing seals, You might save yourself a few quid but if the cylinder bores are worn the time might be wasted, however its up to you.
Pies site has a slave change feature, check it out.
I changed both a while back about £50 each , I didn`t need part numbers just rang Tower veiw and they posted the bits.
Nice to meet you and yours last weekend, just a shame Mike wouldn`t agree to my last minute rule change.

of course if he bores are scored and damaged,
they will need replacing ,
but i had mine done by a professional outlet ,who would recommend replacement if they believed the cylinders were damaged,
so as mine were undamaged i just replaced the seals

!? when mine went on one of my S's, I just drove it to the garage..! a bit of rev matching and the gears were all pretty easy to find.

Cheers
Matt.

The bores were in bad condition, so thought it wise to replace complete unit, which fits or has come off, LDV 200/Sherpa Van! Cost £60 waited half day. That resolves loss of fluid, but pedal was slack. Turns out master cylinder was damaged aswell, internal spring had split in two! Any ideas what master unit is off?

The spring on my clutch master cylinder broke too. Replaced it with one from Rimmer bros - part number was 510815a I did the seals at the same time seeing as it had to come apart.

Can't help on what the unit is off though.
