TP or not TP ?
Discussion
Earlier this week i had what i thought were the usual TP symptoms, hesitation, loss of power, cutting out etc so ordered a new throttle pot. Delivery has been delayed by the xmas post so lastnight i disconnected the TP and used the car this morning to come to work.
You guessed it same thing happened albiet not just as severe.
With or without the TP the car starts fine runs really well until it gets hot then all of the above kick in, any ideas what it can be if not the throttle pot ?

Very long shot this - as I am not massively technical - but could it be the coil? Reason for suggesting this is that I had similar symptoms on a Eurobox when the oil filled coil broke down once the engine got hot resulting in missing, loss of power, hesitation etc etc.
Not sure if the S series have a similar set up - but maybe worth testing.....?
Good luck

I had the exact same symptoms. I ended up puting a Cerbra TP on and seemed to have cured the problem..... for about a week! Like yours it only ever happened when the car was properly warmed up and I disconnected the TP and it still did it. Managed to get it serviced and MOT'd at Benchsound and they seem (fingers firmly crossed) to have solved the problem and it runs lovely now. I know they changed the TP back to a normal one and replaced all the spark plugs, but I will check the invoice when I get home and let you know more as I think they did something else as well, possibly to do with the fuel pipe and HT leads.
When you disconnected the TP did that make the issues go away? If so, it'd be worth considering changing the TP connector as well (assuming you haven't already done this), as this is easily and cheaply available from Ford dealers, and could potentially induce the same symptoms as a faulty TP, but only when connected.

I replaced my TP first which initially improved things but the problems returned and I fitted a new loom kit and all is fine now.
The wiring kit Motorcraft part No. 5028499 is the Cerbera wiring kit for the Cerbera TP (gold connections) but will also fit the original TP.
