Hi All,
I have recently purchased a 1988 S1 1/2 - 2 with the 2.9 engine.
The car has been off the road since 2000 and has had the wiring loom "attacked" and left in the passenger footwell.
I think someone has tried to by-pass the alarm and has managed to fry the red and white leads to the rev counter.
I have replaced these and also removed the alarm and immobliser completely
The fuel pump now primes and the wipers work!
I have followed the wiring diagram but I am stumped as to which wires go where on the coil.
I have a white and yellow, a pair of thin green and a black wire.
The diagram shows green to one side of the coil and the white and yellow to the other but no mention of the black.
next time one of you is in the garage could you please check which wires go to which side of the coil.
Judging by the lack of working lights I assume I have an earthing fault as well.
Can anyone tell me where the earthing points are.
Stand by for future postings!
Bill
