Unfortunately senders are normally made specific to the particular make of gauge and I would find it difficult to identify in a catalogue a sender which matched the particular spec you quote. However demon-tweeks do supply a whole range of senders and may be able to identify one which matches. They are an excellent mail order company.

I couldnt immediately see anything in Car Builder Solutions that wasnt supplied with a gauge.

hi all,the previous sender that has worked ok for 2yrs was an insulated twin connection sender.on a single connection the sender earths through the engine.i believe you check which one by seeing if the starter motor has an earth connection to the engine.there doesnt appear to be one on the S3 - can you fit either? thanks dave

The starter motor is not earthed directly, but somewhere (possibly down by the gearbox cross member) there will be an earth strap, it certainly wouldn't work with out one!

That's a common location for a lot of manufacturers, in my days back in the workshop how we laughed when someone forgot to connect it after doing a clutch and the throttle cable glowed red and billowed smoke as they tried to start the engine smile

The single terminal oil switch will be fine.
