first, Happy New Year to all.
I`m fed up with the exhaust grounding out and is spoiling the enjoyment of driving my s2, having to slow down when the road looks anything other than flat is really p*****g me off!
So perhaps new full adjustable shocks would solve the problem by raising rear end about 20mm, and stiffening up the dampers so she doesn`t squat her arse down so much on acceleration.I did this on my old mx5 with a set of Spax and it worked a treat, what makes of shocks would anyone recomend, similar experiences, and where to buy to get a good deal??

Steer clear of cheapo Spax, AVOs etc unless money is really tight, decent dampers correctly set up make a huge difference to the car's handling characteristics.

Ditto that. Austec have spent alot of time getting the spring rates with AVO's just right for the S. I suggest you let them set them up too. I have these on mine and they're fab. Also the AVO's are adjustable - so you can tweak them a couple of clicks for track days etc ...

I use AVOs from Austec, Nitron's were just far too pricey for what I need them for. I think they are a tad over kill for standard replacement. Both HarryW and GreenV8S run very modified cars.

I have run SPAX on my Mini which I track a lot and am very happy with them, a little hard though.

Cheers to all. had a quick reply back from austec this morning, with qoute for £800 + vat fitted and includes wheel alignment.my only problem is living on the i.o.w. is having to fork out an extra £100 for car ferry and travelling ect, but I didn`t expect to find anyone on my doorstep!!!
Its a lot to fork out given the time of year and all that stuff, but maybe the old credit card will come in handy!

I have up-rated my previous BMW shocks with Sachs units and they were excellent but sadly they don't appear to market any TVR fitments.
