Decided to try and cure the flat spot so fitted a new Throttle Pot and gold connector, bought from Ford shop cos i wanted to waste some money, should have gone to tvr! I was concerned about wiring mods as ford offered zero advice, anyway the PH threads are good. With old connector sill on, it ran ok but still had flat spot. Changed to gold connector, it would not even start until i reversed the two outer wires. now runs fine. So maybe it was the resistance in the old silver connector that was at fault. Dont want to put old TP back on incase i find I wasted even more money. Gonna keep it as a spare though-just in case!!

yeh, you are right Pies! that was one of the threads i looked at, amongst others. There was some mention about some people changing wires around and some not. All i need now, like yourself is some good driving weather to be able to get and have some fun again.
