servicing S2 2.9i
Discussion
Engine oil is very subjective, some like to stick with a "traditional" mineral oil as would have been all that was available when these cars were new, some go for the modern fully synthetic or there's the middle ground, a semi synthetic?
Similar with oil filters, a multitude of Brands but bear in mind it has to be quite a dumpy one to fit, not a lot of room on the S.
Gearbox oil seems to be a toss up between ATF fluid or 75W90 gear oil?
Have a good look around the "useful links" wiki at the top of this forum or try a few forum "searches", you should find all your answers or if you go into a reputable Motor Factors and TVR S doesn't come up on their computer try Ford Sierra 2.9 XR4i
The engine oil that I recommend is Valvoline VR1 Racing.
It's a mineral 20w50 with a higher level of zddp ( zinc, phosphorous etc ) additives than most modern oils, and helps look after the valve train as well as maintaining good oil pressure in our old school V6 Cologne lumps.
Available from good motor factors i.e. www.eurocarparts.com
