My rocker covers have seen better days, they are quite rusty now especially around the bolts, and I am told if they get worse, they can become porous
I would like to invest in new ones, I think my choices are;
1. Go to a breakers and find some old ones
2. Find a company who can supply replacements...maybe even chromed?
Has anyone had any experience with this?

I took my Rocker Covers Off, cleaned them down and repainted them in the same colour as my car in Acrylic 2 pack paint. Seems fine. I am doing the same thing with the plenum and butterfly housings.
In my experience the Chromed look doesn't las too long, (well on Minis it didn't any how).
Pity there aren't alloy types available.
I have a spare set of rocker covers, if you're interested. I can clean them up, I'll have to have a look at them.

Thanks, I would be interested..I think mine may be past re-painting..if I can get a spare set, I can get them painted, and still be able to drive about while their done!
I would be interested in having your old ones if you get the ones off Wildfire so I can get the same done.I cant believe that they would become porous unless the corrosion hads got really bad and they would be grit blasted prior to painting, though I intend ot get them powder coated. If you really wanted to push the boat out Burton Power do some polished ALuminium ones but they cost an arm and a leg.

Painted mine and they look good, IMHO, take less time to keep looking good than chrome too, you dont want to spend more time polishing than driving like Andy......? :hehe

Just had a look at your updated profile photos Mike, she's looking really nice. Lovely under the bonnet too.

I hammerited mine - it honks for a bit when the engine gets hot, until it's properly dry, but after a week or so it's fine.
The ones in the TVR are black (soon to be repainted because I don't like it) - I had a V6 Granada which had Hammerite smooth blue covers, lasted 100,000 miles with no cracks or blisters (possibly lasted longer, I sold the car!)

My S4C is currently undergoing a complete body off restoration. The engine along with the rocker covers has been painted and is awaiting installation which hopefully will be in the next few weeks. Pictures of the engine are in my profile. Still trying to workout how to post pics here.
