Value of 4 S2 alloys?
Discussion
Am considering changing the alloys on my S2 for some wolfrace ones ala Amyzoe's. There's been lots of figures bandied about for the price of original S2 alloys, but I'm a little confused as to what to expect for all 4.
They're not restored, but in good nick. I'm thinking it might be better to sell them separately, but will probably need to do a straight replacement in order to be able to fund the new ones.
Thanks,
Stuart.

I advertised mine here at £250 all in very good condition (no peeling lacquer or scrapes etc), a set of 4 with 4 reasonable Pirelli tyres and got £220 for them as a complete set but I had loads of calls from people wanting just one but no price for one was discussed and I sold the set after about 3 months.
Bell Hill garage in Bristol will buy them for 550 pounds minimum they offered this for mine recently the price has become higher due to rarity and demand!! Give Tom a call he will buy them refurb them and sell them on for 1000 notes!!! I have sold mine for 550 pounds too!
Good luck.

Doh!!
If the price of an original set is as stupid as people have said (i.e. £1000), why would anyone want to keep theirs?
Normally something is only worth as much as people are prepared to pay for it... if there is a demand for something that is rare then the price usually rises.
I suspect there are far more sets of S2 wheels about than there are S2's, so I doubt they are rare. I also doubt that the value of the car would be greatly affected if it had larger, modern alloys in place of the originals.

Guys thanks for all your help. Have spoken with Tom at Bell Hill, and not only was he very helpful but he's also based just down the road
.
On the subject of the replacement alloys (and I don't want to labour the point as I know there's another thread about this), not so much joy.
It appears that Wolfrace don't supply the type that amyzoe has in either an et15 or 20 fitment anymore
. In fact the choice of wheels that might conceivably suit an S2 is limited.
Has anyone got a photo of their S with alternative alloys on, so I can steal your ideas

Stumashy,
Click on my Profile and you'll see my alternative wheels.
They are Wolfrace CAM295 with 205 / 40 x 17 tyres.
The wheels are 17" of course (as per the tyres) and are an ET10 offset, this means they are further out from the body than say an ET20.
ET10 is the same as used on many Peugeot models whcich have the same 4x108 PCD.
You'd be lucky to get away with fitting an ET20 offset but they are borderline for the S really depending on the style of wheel. If the wheel style is such that it is inset and has a rim (like the original OZ rims) then you may be OK.
And for info.... Ford fitments are ET35-40 and no use on an TVR S series car.

I had assumed that the S hubs must be Sierra, since everything inside them is...
Correct, they are Sierra hubs but must be mounted further inboard.
Trust me, I've tried Ford ET35 offset on my S2 and they looked ridiculous and were very close to the shocks so general suspension geometry must be a little different, ET10 Peugeot offset were perfect.
