Thinking about an S3
Discussion
Hello All,
I have been contemplating coming across from the classics forum for some time now which would mean I would be letting go of my fully restored 1600M, I love it to bits but it just doesn't go like it looks and everyone that stops to speak to me about it is allways dissapointed when they ask "what size motor is it". I have been lurking around this forum for ages and think I have made up my mind on an S3, did consider going for an early Chim but think the S has more character and like the retro looks. My mind was really made up when WildfireS3 kindly met up with me when he was up North and took me for a spin in his. My question is this - does anyone know any of the cars currently in the classifieds or does anyone know a good S3 which may be looking for a new home.
Cheers
Graham

Joolz V8 S is in the classifieds for £7.5k.You can bet your bottom dollar its mechanically sound
Tend to agree with thisIMHO I think you'd struggle to lose money at that price.

Thirded. I wanted that car, but couldn't spare the funds.
Have you tempted Joolz with an offer

Bought Tim (BERGS2)'s S2 instead. Jools would have laughed at me with any offer I could have given on that tasty V8.
That said, I have fallen in love with my S2. I never knew a 6 cylinder engine could sound so...evil.

Hi Graham,
Your car looks lovely from the pic on your profile. The car Podie is referring to is mine(thanks for the plug Podie). I know there are a few here who would tell you to go for the V8S and I very nearly did the same. However I was a little put off at first as they are not for the faint-hearted (bearing in mind my wife also wanted to drive it!). The S3 is by no means slow and the back end can drift out on the odd occassion, but they are shall we say easier to master and more forgiving. When I nearly went for a V8S, its owner persuaded me to go for the S3 instead and, IMHO, I think it is wise advice (unless of course you are used to living/driving on the edge!) You will get a nice example of an S3 for the money you are looking at and if you want to drop me an e-mail I will be more than happy to give you any gem on my little baby or S3s in general. Above all, just do it, you will not regret it, and it is very addictive.

It's loud, and very throaty.
