Hello again!
Trying to get parts together for a service & I'm stuck on where to get the Pipercross 3004 air filter. Any suggestions for cheap online purchase!
When I took off the filter to check it's condition etc, I noticed that it seems to only suck air into the top inlet (the front port to the plenum chamber). This doesn't seem normal?!!!
Any suggestions on spark plugs? Is it worth spending loads on split plugs etc? What do people generally use? Cheeeeeeeeeeeeeers, Rob.

Rob,

Not sure about the rest, but I just bought a new Piper cross air filter from Demon Tweeks, ring them on 01978 664466 and they sent it out next day! You either have to adapt it to take the breather pipe, or fit a seperate filter on the top of the oil filler. Have just done the latter yesterday!

Thanks Darren & Ian, I will try those two sources for the filter.
Has nobody got any clues on the air flow (lack of) or suggested spark plugs???

Hi Rob,

The top airflow meter does all the work (from reliable source) and the bottom one just measures air temp.

Regarding plugs, I fitted Granada 2.9 V6i spec NGK plugs but they were not what TVR list (apparently) and when the garage had it in for poor running they changed them. It didn't make any difference (it was the TP again) but I think they are a different temperature plug to a normal Granada one.

If you can get hold of a NGK catalogue to look at in your local motor factor it explains about the differences and gives the spec.

I actually have hot starting problems (doesn't fire for a few turns when hot) and it has just occurred to me this could be because I have the wrong temp of plug fitted now?

Hope that helps?
