2.Anyone know what window washer pump to replace a faulty one with with?
3. Where can i get hold of the steering colum bearing kit that attatches to the rod from the steering wheel to the body and how much roughly? Appears i dont have one at all but have an answer to my drivers footwell filling up with water!
4. Any ideas why my reverse lights arent working but the bulbs are fine!

Loads of questions i know but well within the experience base here im sure.
Cheers

1). I have Mobil One oil in the engine but it's really really really expensive! Next time I'll be using Castrol GTX Magnatec, excellent stuff and much more reasonable.

2). I'm not sure which washer pump is fitted but Lucas do loads and can usually match one for you, Halfrauds also sell them.

3). Adrian Venn (Exactly TVR) used to sell the bearing kits and I'm sure many of the other TVR specialists also sell them.

4). Sounds like your reverse light switch is duff, again Lucas is your best bet as they list loads, should be same as a Granny though.

I've not had to touch my reverse light switch (yet) but IIRC it's in the side of the gearbox somewhere, sorry I know that doesn't help a great deal.

Folks can anyone be more specific for me?

Ta!

On mine, easy job. Remove the gear lever gaiter, it's on the right hand side - a plug into the side of the box. Mine comes loose occasionally, killing the reverse lights.

Problem is, when you plug mine in, the speedometer starts behaving oddly (dying under acceleration)

TVR electrics, eh?

Cant help much, but the Rover V8's like 15/40 or 50, castrol magnatec(sp). Might your rear bulb housing be knackered? They are cheap to fix if thats the case.

Got a steering-column bearing kit from Tower View about two months ago, it was £25(ish) IIRC. Details are on my profile.

The wind screen washer resevoir and pump are straight of a Fiesta (Mk2 I think)- might get one from a scrappy.

I would also check the rear light clusters for 12V on the reversing lamps - these are notorious for poor continuity. As both are out, does sound like a gearbox switch though.

Good luck. Nick.

I was suggesting the switch as both lights aren't working but if it is the rear bulb holders they are available from Ford dealers at a cost of approx £7 each (circa 1986 Escort etc)

Thanks everone for the rapid results.
Oil, will go for the magnatec.
Pump, off to halfrauds- im sure theyr inexpensive.
Reverse lights, will have a look under the gator.

Incidently, i get a rattle from the gear box under hard reving. Can this be rectified whils ive got the gator off?
