Rocker covers

Just reset the tappets and decided rocker covers were looking crap. Stripped and painted them with same 2pack paint used on body. Noticed on an older thread, wildfireS3 had done the same. If you read this, let us know if they still in good order. Thinking of doing plenum chamber also. Looks good but is virginal on the road. Although been well warmed in the garage

Yep, i did it a while ago. Am doing it to my spare set as well, and then to my spare plenum.

Not looking to sell your spare set Wildfire ?

I'd like to change the one's on my S2, but don't have the time to strip them off and do the work

Just be careful putting them back on, it's easy to scratch them. They do get a bit mucky though.

Sherm, I may sell them, but it depends on what happens with the car. I'm hoping to let the whole lot go at once with the car. If just the car goes all the spares will be up for grabs. Including a set of alloy roof stays.

Was intending to give them 2coats of lacquer and bake it on, so that should help not to scratch. Will still be super carefull tho! They take a lot of cleaning before spraying. Was in garage till midnight and only managed a primer. Her indoors not too chuffedthink she gonna buy me a sleeping bag

Yeah, I put 3 coat of paint and 3 of lacquer on. They pretty much bake themselves when you run the engine. Not sure how well the plenum will work though as it gets a lot hotter than the rocker covers.
