Does any one know if we need special track day insurance to drive at Millbrook on the Sunday? I asked the TVR office and they refered me to my insurance co - who weren't sure and asked if the event is MSA approved, will there be marshalls and will speed limits applied?

I think there is discussion on it on the general Tvr forum...look is like some insurers are ok with it if it is a non-timed event

Not spoken to mine ....yet .....

Good question Sunnysu.

Maybe one for the TVR Events & Meetings PH section, so that all can consider their insurance cover.
I think it will depend on who you are insured with, some will cover you, some won't.
I am with Classic Line who offer ( limited ) track day cover at no extra cost as long as it is a properly organised event and you notify them in good time prior to the event taking place. A TVRCC organised event is acceptable to them, doesn't have to be linked to the MSA.
I am presuming the Big 50th Event will be properly marshalled & H & S compliant.
But I am also expecting to have to sign a waiver.

The event is not a track day or MSA approved. There is no timing and speed limits are applied, it is a driving experience on Private roads.

Speed limits applied are 100mph on the High Speed Bowl and 55mph on the Alpine Course, that may sound low but it's very steep and twisty in places.

Mannings & Classicline have already said that their policies will cover the event. Footman James policies with the optional track day cover will also be valid.

In all cases it is your responsibility to check you have the right policy and have informed the insurer.

Correct, you will have attend a safety briefing and sign a waiver before receiving your wristband that will allow you access to the facility.

FYI Glen
Did you know CL don't insure us on track abroad any longer. (Spa!, or any track)
New rules
Phillpot confirms the same from RH as well.

No Si, I didn't know that.

They have not informed me of any changes to my policy which runs from August 2014.
Their track day cover is the reason I switched to them from Carole Nash.

So who does offer cover for our little half-hour Spa session?

You may be ok as the current policy, apparently, still should be ok.
Only for new policy's ( mine 11th May renewal frown ).

See what they say.
But looks like any out side of the Uk tracks will not be covered for future.
