Nice new old stock Lucas distributor cap

Old plugs out and new ones in. The old ones are all the same healthy colour....

Air filter changed and fluids topped up.
The cutting out when hot problem I had in Germany last year came back yesterday. I've changed the AFM and I've got a new ignition module but I can't get a spanner on the little bolt at the back of the existing one to move it, so it looks like that will have to stay put for now and I'll take the replacement, and the paste Paul gave me, in the boot. Haven't had a chance to get it really hot again to see what happens so fingers crossed.
The new problem is the speedo. It works OK until things get really hot and then it just goes to zero. After cooling down it works OK again. Any suggestions? I'll have the sat nav on all the time on the trip so I can use the speedo on that but because the fuel gauge is telling me a pack of lies again I need to monitor my millage so I know when to fill up.I replaced the sender unit last year and re-used the old float so I'm thinking that is leaking and sitting below the fuel surface. Does anyone know where to get a new original pattern float?

Thank you Frank
Another thing I always check before a trip is the Met Office weather charts . This predicts a warm front building to the east of the UK and an area of high pressure approaching mainland Europe from the south. So my forecast for Thursday is good(ish) weather for the trip to Calais and hopefully a smooth crossing for Magpies followed by cold biers in Calais. Of course I could be completely wrong! The forecast of sufficient biers in a hotel in France is pretty wild.

I made a sacrifice on the altar of the weather gods (not virgins, they are hard to come by these days Another thing I always check before a trip is the Met Office weather charts .
