Some interesting speculation. "Comprehensive modifications have been developed for the base units, whose exhausts exit as side pipes just behind the front wheels." Humm....so where exactly will the silencers for road use go? Nice to see Cosworth involved, at least these jobs will probably be in the UK.

Inside the body ala McLaren/Mercedes SLR, also designed by a certain Mr Murray.V8 GRF said:

Both are high-end and very expensive. The McLaren is mid-engined so the complicated exhaust system (& the heat) is behind the cabin and in the space where a boot would be. The Merc is massive and made of steel, but it is speculated that "The new TVRs will be similar in their major dimensions to outgoing models of the mid-2000s such as the Tuscan and Sagaris." so not much room to rear/side of a large V8 engine for an exhaust system (generating massive heat) especially, as it's hinted that the panels will be composite. It's going to be interesting how TVR will combine all these innovations into the speculated "starting price of about £60,000 seems likely, with performance extras boosting prices towards £80,000" and just 1000 units per annum to start with.
Reading between the press dept BS there does seem to be a plan but as to what they will actually produce, let's wait and see

Watch the recent "Super car Rebuild" programme about the re-launch of the Viper. In the price bracket and construction method speculated at this is more likely what will happen. But of course Dodge have the multi-billion dollar Chrysler empire behind them.
At this stage of the game these types of article are mainly to raise profile and get people commenting. Well TVR can tick that box

Joe, this a new TVR... with a Cosworth V8... and you're worried about silencers...?!To me, so far everything about the new TVR group shouts "credibility". And importantly, as David has said, the God like Mr Murray is involved in the design. This is the same Mr Murray who designed one of the coolest cars ever, the F1, so I am sure he knows what he's doing with the exhaust

Exciting! Gordon Murray is no fool and has a good track record for innovation. Don't know how many of you will remember but when the 'new' Triumph motorcycle firm was launched they also kept a low profile for some years until they had established exactly how to finance, manage and market the company. When they launched they had a well designed, well built produce that matched the market they had identified. It was a successful venture.
Let us hope TVR, and the signs are there, are just as thorough and just as successful. Maybe the first model should be 'Phoenix' but V8S does have an appeal!!!
Mind you, we pensioners will have to be satisfied with our S's, and I am happy with that. Won't stop me window shopping though!

OK chaps, for the record I'm sure GM & all know exactly what they are doing but you can bet they bloody well won't spread it all over the media so their competitors can steel a march on them. What you're reading now is BS generated by the marketing agency to create "chatter" and media coverage which is then "massaged" by journalists to make interesting reading and sell copy.
Again, for the record, good luck Les, Gordon etc etc and I look forward to whatever it is you produce to keep the brand alive and show that British engineering and innovation is the best in the world. In the meantime I will keep doing the lottery in the hope I might be be to afford one as and when...and now I'll go back to doing the impossible in my little garage
which today means adapting VW wiper arms to fit. This will be the Mk2 version and will incorporate the work done by Phillpot Developments Ltd, so perhaps these will be the Mk3 versions?

Competitively priced, V8 engined convertible that will restore the TVR marque ..maybe they should call it the V8S ?
They could do the fastest versions in mica blue just like the current ones
Sort of like this then? Starting at £56,750, with well developed engines, wide range of options, good build quality and decent warranty. Quote from Autocar article, " ...a starting price of about £60,000 seems likely,..." A difficult market for a new car from a new manufacturer to compete in. Fortune favours the brave

Unless I missed something that image isn't from TVR - I think its just some of the trade press guessing a possible design. Images from TVR to follow in the coming months.
I for one, think the addition of Gordon Murray and the involvement of Cosworth give this real credibility. I'm excited - I'll be doing the lottery tomorrow just in case.

Really? On the other hand, if you want a car which looks like an Aston Martin you could always have the real thing

It just doesn`t look like a TVR IMHO, I think it will be like the Mini saga all over again, it`s a mini but not a real one.
I'm with you Steve - Against the flow of what seems to be popular opinion and hype over this, the rendering shown looks very Anodyne in my opinion (not that my opinion will matter of course, as its unlikely i'll be able to buy one anyway) and just like a load of other Computer designed blandness out there. A mix of Jaguar, Audi, Aston all rolled into a bit of a mess there. Again IMO, nothing like the wild and individual design statements of TVR past like the Sagaris, T350, Tuscan etc... However it is just an artists impression, so lets see, but I do think that aesthetics matter hugely in the case of TVR rather than merging into the car mass blandness out there. It hard to tell the difference amongst a lot of manufacturers designs these days. Driving experience, I have no doubt will be wild - but the looks HAVE to stand out IMO - but I guess they may be casting the net wide to appeal to more reserved tastes perhaps.
