had an old hose split on way home last night, thought it was a head gasket at first but water temprature only 85 degrees, & on closer inspection (when steam cleared enough) it is the 2" upper pipe from the swirl pot 's' bending down to the front of the engine.

does anyone know if these are a standard ford hose or a TVR part? and has anyone got a spare one?

cheers

Richard.

Is it split where the alternator belt has worn through ?

Mine did, I bought an ally hose connector from local motor factors and cut out the worn bit.

cost £5 and took 5 mins

it is pretty near the alternator belt, not sure if has worn through though, didn't get a chance to check properly - it was dark / steaming / late for a date with the wife etc.... but it was definatly spewing from the bottom connection, may just need cleaning shovling back on & tightening properly?

i'm popping next door to a ford truck dealer ship anyway to see if i can blag a similar one & make fit.

will let you know if it works........
