I would like to attempt to repair some scratches and stone chips, a friend tells me you put a couple of layers of touch up pen on the scratch, then rub it down with 1200 paper, then use compound or T Cut
Is this a good method? I am a little nervous to start rubbing down the paintwork!
Has anyone done this/got any advice?

Hi, sounds okay. Metallic is more tricky. I wouldn't necessarily use 1200 grit but a rubbing compound, which is slightly abrasive, or even straight in there with teh T cut, and some elbow grease. All you are trying to do is get the touch up paint level with the original, so don't rub a large area, just the touched up bit. Try it in a non-visible area first.

Have fun, Nic
