Effing modern nanny state cars. Drove the bmw half a mile and the high temperature indicator came on and went into limp mode.....No more than 15 mph. Wtf. I was on way to mates in Tyneside to Marshall on rally tomorrow. Made it home and now in Tyneside on alcohol. Thank you TVR S

Partially agree Steve, but high engine speeds and loads can generate quite a bit of heat!

Was a failed water temperature sensor as thought. A diesel car does not heat up in 400 yards.
