You've just done it! smile Depending on how quickly you want to sell it either (a) Put an advert in the PH classifieds with lots and lots of information and as many good photos as possible or (b) put it on eBay with no reserve.

How not to do it.

Don't pay too much attention to the hype (bocensoredcks) about escalating values, it's worth what somweone in prepared to pay for it.

Good luck thumbup

Find someone who will love and cherish it ( bit like me, in fact a lot like me) and offer it to them for a token price in the content knowledge that it is going to a good home where it will be cared for for many years to come rather than being passed from here to there by unscrupulous wheeler dealers just trying to make a quick profit wink

confused Well, I'm struggling to understand this???????

If you're retiring, shirley that's the time to start really enjoying your V8S? I retired a while ago and couldn't / wouldn't contemplate parting with Austin, my trusty S1. What exactly do you intend to be doing when you have sold it? ( If that's not too personal a question )

I am genuinely baffled scratchchinconfused

I'm with you, time to be buying not selling. But who's Shirley?

Charles , I would put an add on here in classified section, you can get to it from the "links" tab at the top of the page . Upload as many pictures as you can .
Also if you are a TVRCC member put it on that too. I personally would not advertise on Ebay or autotrader . You are not permitted to advertise on the forum but if you were to include a little info on this thread and put a photo on your profile you may find an existing owner who can put you in touch with a potential buyer .
Good Luck .

The proper advice came along in the end!
Agreed,PH and TVRCC,possibly also Car and Classic.
Ebay can attract time wasters and those who want something for nothing, and Autotrader is for newer cars.

Shirley was my attractive young assistant who helped me with the raffle and trophy awards at SCH smile

The "Wilson" giant kazoo / vuvuzela has now been removed and swapped for a lovely sounding exhaust that doesn't make my ears bleed as much, but still causes small children to burst into tears. Perfect cloud9

Selling it! eek Another retired 'gent' here, I only bought mine for my retirement! Now starting to get the time to enjoy it, no way I am selling it. Mind you if you want a good caring home for a V8 then I reckon it would be better with me than any of those rogues and scoundrels abovebiggrin

I do agree that there has been some 'hype' about prices, and some rather amazing auction prices, on the other hand other cars have gone through auctions almost unnoticed or sold for modest sums. However, the word amongst those who should know is that older TVR's are hardening in price and the rebirth of TVR is going to help even more. Can you show me any attractive classic British sports car that isnt going up in value at the moment (certyainly more than an ISA!)? (they tell me the relaxation in access to pension funds is boosting values as well, but I really do not know). It is now economically worth restoring an S, just!!!
