Alloy wheels

I need my alloys refurbished on my S1 any idea where I`d get this done and how much,as close to Northampton as poss.cheers Bob

I posted a similar query on another alloy post earlier today:

I've got the original S1 alloys and they suffered the usual fate with the lacquer puncturing, brake dust getting underneath, generally looking pretty rough etc etc. I stripped the lacquer coat off one wheel and used very fine wet 'n dry to remove the remnants of the brake dust. All in all, it looked pretty good. Repainted the black bits, polished (using wadding, can't remember the name) and then applied a clear lacquer coat. In the garage, the wheel looked great and I was very pleased with the result. Put it back on the car though and it looked a shade or two darker than the other wheels. I'm guessing I may have to strip the new lacquer coat off and go for some more rigorous polishing. Any tips on achieving the same super bright / chrome finish ? A mate suggested they may have to be re-anodised ?? Not sure about this though.

Apart from the slightly 'darker' finish, I'm pleased with how the wheel turned out. So, Nitromors the lacquer off again (only one coat so 10 minute job, and then polish, polish, polish (cheers Notanutter). Probably won't re-apply a lacquer coat.

I'll take some before and after photos when its light and get them posted.
