Could you make one from motorbike brake cable and fittings?

Not available as such. You will find that cycle brake cables are quite 'man' enough for the job. I am not absolutely sure how the two cables connect at the lever on yours. If it was originally one cable, round a spool at the handle, ask for a tandem cycle rear brake cable for length.

In my S1 I have two cables, one from each catch, joined by a 'chocolate block' electrical connector at the middle which gives some adjustment.

Would two metres be long enough?

hi Mike, I have never tried to use a tandem cable but I would have expected it to be long enough. Mine uses 2 standard cycle rear brake cables and there was lots to chop off.

The arrangement on this car is a single cable with a pulley in the middle, I am hoping that 2.1m is enough to go the whole way. I would like to replace the outer too.

Whay take the chance? Go to a bike or motor bike shop where they will sell the cable by the meter and the nipples which you can simply solder on. Easy peasey thumbup

Sorry to pick you up on a minor point Joe but soldering nipples on to a modern stainless bike inner cable isnt quite so easy as it used to be. Unless done properly the chances of it failing are high.
