I've been looking for an S, ideally a V8S, but they are few and far between. I see that this mica red one is up for auction. It has been for sale privately previously but obviously didn't sell.

Before I commit to spending a day traveling up and back to view it, has anyone else looked at it or know any of its history? It looks a nice car with a good history from the ad. Feel free to PM me if necessary.

Otherwise does anyone else know of any other cars coming up. Thanks in advance.

Looks OK'ish, but being an auction take a long, good look at it and be strict with your maximum figure - there have been some silly prices recently for British sportscars (altho regrettably few have been TVR's).

Incidentally why do Classic car dealers have to run such pompous adverts these days. Just open one of the classified pages of Classic & S.C. and you'll get the typical "finished in Rosso red, a delightfully patinated interior commensurate with its age, and benefitting from an exemplary service history, offered to market as a unique opportunity for the discerning enthusiast, this motor car is furnished with many original factory fitted extras which, combined with its impeccable provenance, will further enhance the investment opportunity that this automobile doubtless represents"

Describing an F40 - well maybe OK, but not an MGB. Just colour, mileage and service history would do me...

Such a pompous website...

And when you go to the "previous results" page, there are no previous results - no prices paid!

I think that they are cut from the same cloth as estate agents - we're currently selling our house and they must use a different dictionary to the rest of us.

Useless without prices paid as a guide to current values. What you need to know before travelling is whether or not there is a reserve and if so, how much is it.

Changed my mind, you have to buy it , have seen the auction house profile :

"Justin’s passion for classic motor cars is already well known throughout the UK and having been a regular on the auction scene for some time, he is well placed to understand the “magic” required to connect motivated buyers with motivated sellers of quality and collectible motor cars. Justin’s marketing background, honed in the telecommunications, recruitment and radio industries enables him to deliver a pragmatic and objective approach to the sales and acquisitions of classic motor cars within a structure that is fair to all participants, whilst ensuring the greatest public exposure possible for outstanding cars which require specialist attention."

How can you resist buying from this iconic dealer - although if the TVR requires "specialist attention" when you buy it then the budget might continue to expand... ???

May be genuine (if excruciatingly pompous!) but you might like to check out:
http://www.classiccarsforsale.co.uk/news/classic-c...

Not seen any reference to them as an auction house in Classic and Sportscar but that doesnt mean they aren't genuine. Buyer beware as usual. There have been a couple of surprisingly high auction results for TVR's, recorded in the auction results guides.

"Justin also has a particular liking for MG, Rover, Triumph, Aston-Martin, BMW, Ferrari and Porsche and like any collector would love to own them all at once"

Sounds like a bloody nice bloke
