V8S front lower lamps
Discussion
I think you will find it easy when you get them Toni. The attached picture might help but I have no idea if there was any original fitting before I did this (not wired at time of picture). You may find that the Ring lights are just a tiny bit tight in the opening, a couple of us have had to file a little off the plastic shell of the spotlight to get a good fit.

That's very cheap,at that price I'd be getting a spare pair...but my S3 isn't fitted so I won't!Standard on V8,an option on V6 I believe.
I should add that I will be fitting a plastic cover over when the wiring is back to stop them getting grit blasted!
Ah, I see you confirm my experience Paul.
Yes the bonnet with spotlights was fitted to the V8 and an option on V6, but I seem to remember it wasnt an option available at first so I am not sure when it started to appear.
Mine is an 88 car but I know the bonnet was fitted at least several years later after a small accident.

The original lamps were Lucas DX-150 but you'll be very lucky to find a set now. The Ring ones are slightly smaller in diameter and so are a lot easier to fit because TVR didn't quite make the recess big enough for the Lucas lamps. This is because the catering size baked bean tin they used for the mould was a tad smaller than the lamps. Seriously!
Incidentally, I have a stone chip in one of mine, does anyone know if a windscreen chip repair would work on a lamp lens?

as I know the original lamps come form the German car "Wartburg".
Not unless Wartburg used Lucas lights ?v8s4me said:

Just to ad a bit of confusion, my silver S3c had some very different lights, more like small headlights with adjusters, unfortunately I didn't take a photo but it all looked "original", not something that had been bodged in with lumps of filler, tie wraps and velcro (hang on, that would look original ) ?Stwdv said:
Has anyone ever modified a bonnet to include these lights ?
Do you mean modding an S1 or S2 bonnet? Second page of this thread might answer that.http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
There was the lower section from an S3 in the TVRCC classifieds being sold off for £50. Near Sunderland IIRC
This is a Lucas 150 spot lamp
The "Lucas" sticker is a bit of a give-away of course but it also has the word "LASER" at the bottom of the glass in the 6 o'clock position and the other marks you can see int he photo. The dead wasp is an optional extra.
NB - I've put a plastic cover on mine to help protect from chips and the cloudy patches are where damp has got behind the film.
