Hi - Ive dumped a list of UK roads worth a visit by the wandering S's. Anyone fancy organising one or two for next year...

1. A470 through Snowdonia National Park and the Brecon Beacons
2. The Snake Pass, the Peak District
3. Cat and Fiddle Road, the Peak District
4. A87 to the Isle of Skye, the Scottish Highlands
5. A591, Kendal to Keswick, the Lake District
6. Buttertubs Pass - Yorkshire Dales
7. Black Mountain Pass (A4069) - North Wales
8. A82 Glasgow to Fort William, Scotland
9. Moffat Loop - Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland
10. The EVO Triangle - North Wales (A543 and A5)

how would 'S'ers want to do this - options

1) 1 day (Sat or Sun) from say mid morn to late afternoon to allow driving to start and home at night?

2) 2 x 3/4 day weekend - sort of twice option 1 with a stay on the Sat night for non locals

3) long weekend? meet Friday eve and leave Sun eve

a mix of above depending on area

non of the above

I could put together a couple of routes

1) Yorkshire Moors

2) Yorkshire Dales including Buttertubs

and/or even

3) Durham / Northumberland

with a night between

presume approx. 150 miles per day

the only thing I need to look at is lunch halts and stay over place (Hotel? or Camping?)

I'm happy to sort the EVO triangle, which definitely needs at least one night in the Groes Inn. Max and I did it a few months ago and had a great time.
Tony.
