calling upon the oh so wise 'S' jedi council..

My wiper arms are looking rather tatty, im hoping to replace them with some nice stainless steel ones off 'carbuildersolutions' http://www.carbuildersolutions.com/uk/stainless-st...
Now my only concern is the diameter spindle the new ones say 13.5mm.. are they going to fit? and more importantly i read something on here about some wiper arms fouling the bonnet too

has anyone changed over theres?

Don't think I'd go in that direction with the arms and blades being black as original.
Even if you can get some stainless arms that fit then it's not going to look right unless you go to shiny blades as well...which are old tech and don't actually wipe very well at all.
I would take off your existing arms and clean, prep and prime before finishing in satin black, hang them up to paint and aerosols will be good enough for a decent finish.

I sprayed mine up, looks fine. I was worried about changing from something I knew wasn't going to rub the bonnet.
I'd also take the opportunity to embody the Chimaera mod, ie. wiper blades with integral washers. The difference is amazing. Just a simple bit of tube work and a couple of black cable ties.

Nice one I'll look into it thanks, I take it the hoses just connect to the current jets then run them up to the blades?

No, cut the washer tubing near to the reservoir. Insert a Tee piece (I had to buy this from Halfords). Run a new piece of tubing to the drivers side of the car along the bulkhead and fix with cables ties. Install the new blades with integral washers. Mine came with two pieces of black rubber tubing. Plumb these in and secure the tubing to the wiper arms with a couple of thin black cable ties. Make sure there is sufficient play in the tubing to allow for the wiper arm movement. Job done!

Must be easy if I can do it!!

I don't know if it works on the S wiper arms, but on my Tamora you can run the washer tube through the spring on the inside of the arm. A little Fairy Liquid on the tube helps it to slip through.

Would give a neater installation.

Just in case anybody searches this again, the ones from CBS are NOT suitable for the S. This has been checked out.

The front and rear do look very low. I try to avoid roads with those speed pillows that you usually straddle or I make sure to drive one wheel over the centre and go very slowly.

In my opinion the front worries me more than the rear. Also pulling into parking spaces with a kerb at the end means that you have to be careful not to over run the space.

On my S2 the exhaust front downpipes used to ground out fairly regularly. So there was a monthly job to remake the bottom joints, lots of exhaust paste. Not an issue on the V8S or the Tamora.
