TVR S with airconditioning
Discussion
Hello TVR S owners.
Used "got a question" search engine for any information but did"t worked out.
So to you all.
Does any type of S had a factory airconditioning ?
Or was it an alternative/extra ?
If I want one to install, what are the main issues?
And does it fit in all the V6 models?
Thanx, Hans

I think this would probably do better in the TVR S section!
As far as I know it was never offered as an option in the UK - perhaps in some European countries? There was an Italian 2 litre turbo version IIRC for emissions, maybe there was an a/c option on that but it wouldn't apply anyway as it's a different engine.
Anything is possible for enough money but I would have thought it would be a huge pain. Not sure where the compressor could fit under the bonnet - more room under the V8 bonnet perhaps - and the evaporator and condenser would require thought too.
In my experience the S's ventilation is poor anyway, certainly on the S1/2 the heater only puts air through the winscreen vents or to your feet. The dash vents are a sort of ram air affair so you can only get cool air as you are moving. I know it's a fairly miserable experience in traffic on a hot day - heat from engine and transmission radiating into the cab and no cool air available. Would be an interesting (but expensive) project to retrofit a/c.
