Hi all

My S4 catalytic converter covers / heat resistant material have finally given up the ghost.

Where can I source new material ?

Is performance affected without them ?

Many thanks in advance.

If your car was registered in 1992/3 you should be able to take the Cats out and replace them with spacer pipes , you will gain some HP and will never need worry about them again -if it was registered in 94 then no.

A quick check of the net shows Jan 93 as the cut off, I have an Aug 93 V8s with cats and have been told I need them.

If a previous owner has wrapped them in exhaust wrap the you can just renew it if you wish. Readily available of evilbay. Plenty of how to's on yoouftube.

Alternatively, you could leave it off. I don't recall TVR wrapping / covering them from the factory.

Another option is to get them ceramic coated. I've used premiercoatings and am happy with the results.
