Getting car valued for insurance
Discussion
I thought you only need to get it valued if it was over a certain price...? £10K
I filled in a form rating the condition of all aspects of the car, including mileage etc....
Seeing as the market value of a standard S is pretty stable at the moment is there really a need to have this second value opinion.
If you can garauntee that the insurance company will make a settlement if needed to that valued amount, then it will be worth it....
If they will refer the valuation to similar cars in the marketplace and make you an offer based on their Expert assessors the why get it valued in the first place.
IMHO, With a classic car like the S, the value is what someone is willing to pay for it. Not necessarily what it will cost to replece.
Who are the insurers...?

Its one of the critera required by the classic car insurance offered through A Manning..
Over 10 years old
Mileage statemenet
6 Pics of the car
Experience ....over 6000 miles or 2 years ownership of rear wheel sports car over 200bhp
and a valuation....
It was not the cheapest, but it could by the cheapest in the long run if I up grade to a Griff this year.

Hi Steve, I got mine valued by Offords too, they dont charge, I would a opoisk Simon.
Dave the valuation is to stop the insurance company from giving you less than the car is worth. Getting the car valued means this figure is what they guarantee to pay out in the event of loss!! Saves the hassle believe me and you know you are getting full market value as insurance companies like to pay out as little as possible...!

I had to get a valuation for Mannings as well. I spoke to Rob Ingleby (find a sports car) who sorted me out with one. He advertises in Sprint if you want his number.
ditto
definately worth getting it valued as without it you will have to argue with insurance company ,
they tend to say that if a repair estimate is near to 75% of the total value of the car they may write off and bearing in mind GRP specialist don't come cheap
been going through this recently , so gaet a valuation and save any long term anguish
