While on the subject of conversions, is there anybody out there that can convert an S3 to have front spots like the later models and V8's. As you can tell, mine is lacking in that department. I brought it complete with two small rectangle spots placed under the number plate - which looks naff IMHO!

TET mouldings.

I put a link to them on the alternative parts list a while back.

You can put the square ones inside the intake. Not sure about the wiring

Yep, F908 TIM came over at the weekend and he has a nice set of blue tinted driving lights in the scoop underneath, looked very nice and as he drove off home they looked as bright as the headlights!

Guys - Thanks for the comments, if any one has any pixs of front end conversion, re: lights - love to see them. Once again thanks for your help.

Hi Kevin

Thanks again for the help Saturday...
and the hospitality.
Fitted the lenses on the back lights and like them a lot.(Kept out of the postings on alternative round back lights you notice but thought those posted looked brilliant)
Needless to say,If you need help with yours sometime give me a call, otherwise lets meet up for fish'n chips at the harbour when the weather improves a bit.
Glad you liked the spots,I 'think' I like them...and they do look good with the headlamps on as well.
Shame your car was still being exhausted,
see it next time!
Take care, Tim

PS

I'm glad you like the rear lights, I think they look good on a dark car such as ours.
Take care, Tim

Hi Tim

It was nice to meet you too, your car is very nice indeed. Very smart all round and has obviously been well cared for. The hinge was fine too, I know the nylon sleeve is prone to wear if not lubricated but yours was fine and just needed that bit of adjustment to correct alignment.

I did like your spots that you've added and they are oval/round which is much more in keeping with the body curves and round headlamps on the S (IMHO of course)

I'll be giving mine a good clean up and looking forward to that get together

Cheers,
Kevin

I have spoken to TET to see if they could produce the later front apron as a 'repair panel' so that it could be grafted onto the earlier bonnet. After a measuring they said they could do it but as yet I haven't progressed it any more. I'm not sure how much it would cost for a specialist to cut the old apron off and then graft the new one on ? The idea is that the joint line would be around the bumper/number plate line. I guess it would need someone who's experienced with fibreglass as there would be a lot of stress around that area ?

I wonder whether it is possible to graft on a pair of lamp housings?

Just thinking that it could be less work and possibly less risk to the structural integrity of the bonnet?

I wondered about that to but I think the air intake is deeper. Not sure where to source the lights from either, if the originals are no longer available ? I'm guessing the beams will need to be adjustable but still mount in a similar manor to the headlights ?
