I may need a pair for the MOT tomorrow!

Just picked up the S and the new exhaust is very very LOUD!

Does anyone know where to buy them and how they fit etc?

TIA

Noise level isn't an MOT'able item, you should be ok. Rich...

Thanks Richard, that's good to know ....

It's not crazy loud inside the car but if you open the window it makes a pretty scary noise, sounds like a big V8 dragster now!

Not impressed with the garage who did the removal and refit of the new system, they have made the car absolutely filthy, I got black hands from the steering wheel and the car is covered in mud and the carpets inside are also.

The exhaust was built by another company and they appear to have made an excellent job, albeit somewhat loud!

Incidentally, the car is very responsive now.

Before I see you again remind me to slap the silencer box in the boot and we can see if it fits your new modified exhaust.
I have never bolted it on ...why would you off track!
but Johno sold it on with the car and I have offered it up to the tailpipes, its the pucker custom made box.
If your system sounds that good and at the money we discussed,I would be interested particularly if ground clearance is improved? Praps might fit it elsewhere though!

Hey Peter, that's a good point.

I won't hear Mrs Kentish screams for me to slow down

Ah, it's the box type. I have seen some that just slide over the tailpipe (ACT sell them) but I think the box type probably aren't road legal as they will protrude too far out of the back.

I like the sound when I'm on the move but at idle it is rather a spluttery noise, so I may have to get the straight through section removed and replace with baffles inside the box.

Ground clearance is slightly better but you can't raise the exhaust any further as the pipes hit the chassis cross members, it's now as high as it will go without ovalling the pipes where the chassis rails cross it and then raising it up on it's mountings. That's a possibility but I think it OK as it is for now, it didn't catch those speed humps as much on the way into my house last night.

I'm going to change my tyres soon from 40 profile to 50 and that will also help.
