S3c front speaker size..

Can anyone tell me the diameter of the front speakers? My door cards are with the trimmers and I can't remember the size of the rotten speakers I took out..

I'd double check that, mine are 6 or 6.5" I think(which bit do you actually measure?) but when I fitted "new" door cards I had to cut the hole out quite a bit, suggesting originals are much smaller?


Common sizes on Ebay look to be 4" , 5.25" or 6.5"

I know they're a 'tight fit' and I don't want to get a pair that won't fit.. Think I'll wait till I see the door cards.. Cheers.

I've got Alpine SPG-13C2s in mine and they fit nicely; they are 13 cm, 5.25 inches. I had to drill new screw holes in the door cards as the originals were 3 hole and all modern speakers seem to be 4 hole. I'm not convinced you would get anything much bigger in the stock speaker hole, certainly I tried an Alpine 6.5 inch speaker from my other car for size and the speaker basket was far too big to go all the way in.

There may be some manufacturer out there that produces something larger that will fit, but I reckon you want a 13cm speaker; the SPGs that I have fit nicely, look suitably understated for an older car, sound pretty good and can be had for around the £45 mark on the internet.
