master cylinder seals.

with reference to previous topic on `choice of discs`,I have had a mechanic look at the s2 and he believes that the seals in the master brake cylinder need replacing, or the whole cylinder, which explains why the brakes have not been as good as they should be.mine is a 1990 version with the reservior seperate to the master cylinder, and on looking in the bible it shows this as originating from a saab 900, if this is correct has any one replaced this type of master cylinder before, if I go to a motor factors is asking for saab 900 cylinder enough imformation to give, any one experienced this problem, where did they source the parts?

sorry Clive - no experience - but is the resovoir from a Saab 900 and the cylinder from someone else - looks like a Lucas/Girling part. TR6 possibly ?

According to the alternative parts list , the clutch master cylinder kit is Lucas 74066169

Lockheed LB 13DC002A

sorry Rower but the numbers you qouted are for the clutch master cylinder, the parts list doe`nt have much to go on for the brake master cylinder, so still hoping for any info?
