hi everyone, just got my first tvr (An s3c). Its a great little motor but i need to tidy it up in places. A couple of silly questions now... Is there a workshop manual available for this car? I have a brake light out a reverse light and my spotlights dont work. I replaced the bulbs, no change. Where is the bloody fusebox!?! im guessing passenger footwell but i cant see it. oes the glove box have to come out or something?

thanks in advance

Hello and welcome Congratulations on buying the best model S there is

You'll be needing to get Steve's 'Bible'. Details here

The fuse box on mine is under the glove box, but that doesn't mean yours will be! The Steve Heath book will give all the gory details.

Your spots might well be driving lights in which case they only come on with full beam.

If you are in the South East, why not come along to the VW meet next weekend - plenty of S owners should be there to interrogate.

The "bible"is available from TVRCC (01952 822126) - don't buy one off e-bay !! If you are not a car club member you can't get to anything useful on the website

Fuse box located behind glove box, and is attached to upperside of carpet liner. Glove box stays in situ, and you need to "wrestle" gently the carpet covered panel back until it drops down. Enjoy your first foray into TVR electrics

Welcome to the madhouse

Hi John - welcome to the 'S' club

I have had my S (also first tvr ) for two months now.........and I'm loving it!!!

Spots on mine only operate with dipped headlights (go off with main beam)?? Haven't had the pleasure of discovering where the fusebox is .......yet!

Ian I tried to e-mail you but it tells me your e-mail is not set up right...?

There is a convoy of TVR's going from up your way, Essex, I am meeting up with them on the way, maybe you could come down with them..?

Shame, I have just moved from Cambridgeshire, although MrSheen is still there, give him a shout.

i wont post pics until its clean! ive been playing with it all weekend. Might come along to some meets soon i just want to iron out a few minor niggles first. Anyone know where i can get a locking petrol cap. The one i have can be opened by any bugger with a bag of sugar! its just push a button and it opens up! Its definatly on my to do list along with re-hang the drivers door, sort out intermittant central locking, replace some hoses, look at steering (got nice full lock one way but not much the other way??), slight knocking from an exhaust mount think i bumped it on a mountainous speed bump at about 1.5mph, change stereo. Im gonna be busy for a few weeks!

I woulnd worry, scrotes tend to leave these cars alone for some reason, mine has been parked on the road for six years and the only thing that has happened is someone nicking the passenger side door mirror.

Although my ex is the person most under suspision for that as she maintains that I loved the car more than I loved her.

Mind you my relationship with the car has out lasted our relationship by about a year so she may have a point.

even the most unreliable cars require less hassle and maintenance than most women. Cheaper in the long term too.
