Nice one Barry, they'll look bang on with the 'TVR' centre caps in wink
Let me know how it sits, if you get more ground clearance for exhaust box?

They are Avon's on the car when I got it,
Mat Smith set it up but you lose some travel
in the shocks to get it sitting properly

Isn't the spacesaver smaller diameter than the standard 15" and 60 profile tyre?

Do you know the diameter increase with your 17's (presumably much lower profile tyres)?

Chimaeara's, with 16" rears were supplied with the same size spacesaver. Shouldn't be a problem, imho, for a short distance providing there are no ground clearance issues?

My speedo, with original size tyres reads about 4-5 mph slow (according to Sat Nav) yours might be correct now smile

The tyre TVR fitted as standard was a 205/60x15, which implies the car was designed to run with wheels having a rolling diameter of, in round figures, 25" (pun intended laugh)

A tyre/wheel combination of 205/50x17 = rolling diameter of 25"

A tyre/wheel combination of 205/45x17 = rolling diameter of 24"

Any number of calculators on the internet to help you work out what might work but worth remebering that a lower aspect ratio (tyre wall height) means less compliance and, if you have had to firm up your suspension to get the ride height back, then that's more compliance taken out of the system.

Horses for courses, and you pays your money and takes yer choice etc....

It's just a bit small, don't know if it will work,
I'll have to put it on and try it

But could you just swap the standard wheel to the front and then fit spacesaver to the rear?

So many new cars now don't have a spare wheel. An RAC card with relay will also get you to your destination, and with clean hands

No, that lighter blue one is set up for "off road" by the look of it smile

Could always wind the shocker adjustment up a bit, use tie wrap or tape to mark original position so you can put it back correctly later.

Biggest problem may be getting the 17" in the boot scratchchin

Mmmm? 4 o'clock on a Sunday afternoon in France with a ferry to catch....... I'd rather have the option of getting myself sorted and on the move than wait around for a recovery truck!

Another option would be a repair kit (you'll need a compressor aswell although there are some more expensive kits available with CO2 cartridges)... and even some gloves to keep your delicate little pinkies clean smile

May I ask what offset the S takes, please? I have a set of the 17 inch, six spoke wheels, the ones in the picture with the flat spokes, and mine are the wrong offset for the Chimaera. If they would fit an S then they will be offered cheaply to members of the S forum. IIRC mine are ET18.

Has anyone tried one of these kits? If it works, then at that price it would seem a "no-brainer" for a EuroTour.
