Any idea how I remove these ? I have tried a gentle prise but no joy, is there some sort of technique ?

They're Ford fitment… they have have a spring clip (plastic) on one side and another clip on the other. Push the clip in, and it should pop out. Easy on the S1 / S2 as you can get to it from the wings.

Couldn't find a way to it on the S3… so removed the rubber bit and filed the clip off, then twist off the bulb holder and replace. Be VERY careful you don't lose it into the wing… wiring wasn't exactly generous on mine…!

They should pull out, but the clips will probably break if the plastic has gone brittle with age (I used to break them off on the garage door jamb!). Replacements available from Ford, but I changed mine to the later oval type (although this means cutting a bigger hole in the wing).

Thanks, I have new one, so didnt mind breaking the old one's. Are you saying it can be done from the outside or do I need to get access from behind ?

Don't know. My S2 has access to inside wing, unlike later cars.

Mine's an S2 but I did remove them externally, they pulled out one side and that was enough to enable me to get at the clip on the other side.
