Had agreat day today at North Weald Airfield on a driver tuition day. The outline of the day is the same as on Colins website.

www.tvrsseries.com/sowners/drivertuitioninans/stuitiondaywords.htm

(sorry don't know how to do the pasting the link bit!!!)

Managed the high speed corner at 70 after starting the day at 55.... several spins later and I got to 70!!!

As for the circuit I managed a time of 1min 02 seconds which seems to compare well with the times on Colins sites (it was dry today and the instructor got it round in 58secs.)

For a comparision the fastest car of the day was a lotus elise with a Honda Civec Type R engine in it at 56.6sec. The 111R's were 57sec.

All the lotus drivers thought the S handled well, when they were my passengers...and realised that it took a bit more driving than the Lotus. I had a go in a lotus 111R and managed 1 min 3 seconds after two laps of the circuit.... a very quick and nice car to drive..( as so it should be as iot cost my brother £32,000).

I now feel a lot more confident with the car and until now didn't realise what fun it could be!!! A good day and well worth the £150.

Well done Paul... Sounds like you had a great day...

I take it you sorted you engine power problems out then...? Its just I haven't seen any graphs..

1 min 02 was respectable in that company... Makes you realise how quick Mikes V8, is only 4 secs slower in the WET...

power is up now decatted but not where it should be..... I am trying the approach of racing the nuts of it for 3 months to try and loosen it all up.... the low mileage means the car is tight... it has been looked after too well and now needs to get thrashed a bit.. today helped!!.

It will go back in May for a good service and another rolling road sesion and we will go from there!!

Sounds like you had a good day Paul I know I enjoyed it, even if it was pi$$ing down most of the day.

I would imagine its impossible to compare times as its just laid out with cones and I am sure not exactly the same each time. I was very happy with my time as I was just over a second slower than the Pro

Boasting is not my style Dave its best left to others on PH

But I was pleased with being only 1 second slower than the pro, as the course changes because its only laid out with cones its the only reliable benchmark as to how fast I was compared to others were really? And with dodgy tyres too

Any chance you could post a link to the organisers of this day or is it just a Lotus/S thing? Looks like it was a really good day and one well worth considering...

Any car will do they don't mind.

I was four seconds slower than the instructor... but pleased with the time as he suggested my target ime should be 1.05 so beat that by 3 seconds

Dave, apologies yet again, ive been busy what can I say. I will try o get it done for Sunday, its only about 10-15 mins and not that good as the wind is more prominent than the engine noise...?
