Hi Guys, another teething issue i seem to have ran into laugh..
Since getting my 'S' back from 'Coventry Car Centre' ive noticed my rear fog lights are not working but my brake lights, rear indicators are! (will check reversing light when its not absolutely tipping down.)
Now i will be taking it back to Coventry to get this rectified when the weathers abit better but if its a small fix id take a look myself, which would save me another journey on the m6.

So Ive checked the fuses, bulbs they all seem fine, anybody got any ideas?

P.S i did have a 35watt HID kit with ballasts put on the headlights rolleyes i know i know! Could these possibly interfere with the rear fog lights?

Reasonably straightforward to trace through with a voltmeter.

Do you have one or do you know how to use one ?

Could well be the (crappy, cheap 'n nasty) multiplug where the loom plugs onto the bulb holder assembly not making a connection.

Best thing "they" could do is disconnect the rear its drizzling a little bit fog lights on all cars wink

Time to learn about 'lectrics if you've got a TVR! A straight forward test lamp would do for checking if you have power getting through scratchchin

Should be the first thing in the S owner's toolkit ! You can pick up reasonable OK meters for less than a tenner these days.

Absent a meter, you'd be limited to visually inspecting bulbs & fuses (as you have done), wiggling the headlight switch connector and the connectors on the rear light clusters themselves - although if brake lights & indicators work, the rear light cluster connectors are perhaps less likely to be the issue.

That said, if they were working fine before you took it to Coventry, then it mightn't be a bad idea to ask the garage exactly what they did and whether the failure could be related.

Whatever you do when testing any circuits on the TVR, make sure the load is connected, without a load there will be no current flow, voltage yes, but no current flow. If for example you are checking the fog lights, put your meter leads in the back of the bulb holder with the bulb still in place. You can get 12v through a wet finger but not enough current flow to power a load.
