i have looked - but wtf are they? I'm getting lazy start.....and would like to start with a bit of basics, like a good ground connection.

There are threaded sections welded to the cross members behind the rear inner mudguards on the V6 along with the one by the battery too. Have you traced back from the starter?

Would have thought the same undersizing of cable would effect the V8 more than the V6 and then there's the 'hot start' issue which, on the face of it, is wiring related too.

Glad I didn't buy it now biggrinwink

It always starts - it just isn't as quick a churn as I would like...

Battery all good.

So am I!

Have you got a decent set of jump leads? Try clipping from battery earth terminal to engine block, might need to join them together.

Failing that treat it to one of these ... ;

The two I know off are on the driver's side (i) front, on the diagonal tube between the main chassis and the outrigger tube, (ii) the box section under the rear wheel arch, this is where the earth strap from the battery attaches to the chassis and gets covered in crap.

There must also be an earth strap between chassis and engine/gearbox somewhere?

On my little V6 it is by the gearbox crossmember

It is on the diaganal tube on the RH side of the engine bay. I suggest you run a voltage drop test between the battery and the starter post of the starter motor.

I have but someone's put the battery in the boot. 👍

Yes, best place for it!

Clip one lead to the other then should be long enough?
