As i recently bought my S3c from an auction, I haven't had the luxury of the previous owner showing me the finer points of the car, so I resorted to the Owners manual, which said the boot release switch was under the steering column. It isn't, it is to the right of the steering column under the dash board, i spent a few minutes pressing round the soft piece of leather under the steering column, thinking it was broken. Silly me. This may be a DPM and I apologise for this, but I couldn't find anything and couldn't go to bed last night until i found it. I certainly pops up nicely.

Damp Proof Membrane? smile

The driver's manual is referring to the earlier cable operated release a la Sierra/ Escort bonnet.

Thanks guys. My biggest realisation in my 2 days of ownership is that each Tvr is unique. There seems to be a different variation of something on each car. I press a button and someone else pulls a lever, on the same boot release. CRAZY!!

You might want to consider fitting a lever/cable release and hiding it somewhere discreet, for that inevitable day when you have a flat battery and need to get into the boot.
