I know there's been a lot of forum posts about loose gear sticks but my gear knob keeps on rattling loose when in fourth - it's really annoying! Does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep it in place? Dab of sealant on the thread? PTFE tape?

I also checked the outriggers today for the first time in a while and saw a bit of flaking on the corners. The chassis was re-done a few years ago, is it worth touching up the flakey bits?

Thanks

Alex

Will do no harm until it's time for a "proper job"

You could try both of these ideas, they should not do any harm.
I'm not sure how long the threaded end is, but you could also try a locking nut.

What about a little drip of thread lock for the gear stick?
Hammerite smooth is quite a good match for a red chassis.

I'd go with wire brush on a drill, degreaser/ prepaint wipe, then red enamel / Hammerite, then waxoyl on the vulnerable bits.
