I didn't mind missing out on the first couple, because I was happy to take my time and get the right car. So when nice car #1 and nice car #2 were sold I didn't mind much.

Then there suddenly seemed to be loads for sale, so I enlisted a trusty expert to help me choose the best one.

Cars #3 and #4 sold before we could even get to look at them, but I still had my favourite, car #5 to look at.

Fell in love with car #5, everything perfect, just needed to wait to get it inspected, but was concerned that it would be sold from under my feet. So on Sunday night I called the guy, and he assured me that he wouldn't sell it as I'd gone to the trouble of getting inspection sorted out.

So finally, I started to let myself believe that I would be getting my beloved V8S, and that it was going to be the perfect car for me.

Then I get the dreaded call yesterday. He's had a begging phone call so he's sold my baby back to its previous owner.

In fairness, he was very sorry. And at least its gone back to its previous owner (who had probably been missing it). So I'm trying not to be too angry

Beginning to wonder whether it's fate.

I've treated myself to a 5 pack of consolation jam doughnuts and a 5 pack of smartie cookies but I still feel really sad.

Is this something that I need to get used to ?

I've read many posts of owners seeing their P&J drive away...

I've read many posts where owners have sold their P&J's only to feel sad and lonely...

BUT

Never have I read a post where a prospective owner/buyer who hasn't got a car wept when its been sold...

when i was looking for an 'S'
i looked at a few or they were sold before i got there then out of the blue
i got a call from a dealer to say they had an S in and there it was the car i wanted

if may be worth letting a couple of dealers know you are looking

Sorry to hear you're having trouble finding a V8S. Does anyone know what 'attention' the white V8S in Jersey requires?
Seems like a very low price - I know there has been a glut of V8S's recently....but, still!!

I did get in touch with that guy and he sent me a good set of photos of the troublesome areas. Seemed like too much work for what I'm after, plus the added complication of it being in Jersey.

Beautiful colour though, wouldn't have thought it could look so good.

That V8S in Jersey is now only £5,500 and when you consider he might accept an offer, thats a hell of a price for the small amount of work needed!

The work is mainly cosmetic, new carpets, tyres etc from what I remember get it for £5K and your laughing?

V8S'S ...... LITTLE HEARTBREAKERS

Mines causing me more grief than you would believe

I need to buy a house, trying to find one with decent parking for the "S" is difficult within my price range.Local garages are on a waiting list and i'm under instruction from a higher authority (mother) NOT to sell the "S".Against all logic

Yes but there is VAT to consider because it was not registered in the UK first and its based on market value not what you pay for it.

Mrs BC, I hope you get one soon . I really don't think there will be another glut of V8S's for sale in such a short time frame again given the overall numbers out there .
Re the one sold back to the previous owner, it wasn't black was it .

Thanks Harry.

No, it wasn't a black one. It was metallic red (I think the colour is 'wine' but I could be wrong).
