Hi Guys,
firstly, im trying to find where to get hold of the brown interior ribbed carpet on my S, also the grey marled boot carpet, any ideas?

laugh now the reason why i need such items.. Ive just fitted the new polished roof strutts, had a right palava the RH original hole was set so far in it was a workout to push the strutt up, no wonder my old strutt had buckled in the middle! So i ended up measuring the LH side and then RH side which was 2" out!

After fixing this issue & taking speakers out, i could see the holes which were cut for them (factory/previous owner?) were not even level plus in the way of the strutts (kind of sat over the LH one before) so now ill be either fitting smaller rear speakers or jut doing away with them completely & filling in the holes with some 1/4 ply & p40 bonding around.

Cheers
Steve

Just a heads up guys incase anyone orders on instinct from wooliestrim, the 'Thin Ribbed Carpet - Brown' appears to be a like for like match on the photo but is much lighter when it arrives, luckily i asked for a sample first!
Next to try is 'segalmotortrimmings' who apparently supplied TVR interior material so will let you know if its a match, i presume most the other colours would be too.

Segal is where I got the vinyl when I had the centre console re-trimmed. They were very helpful and sent me 5 samples to choose from. One was a perfect match (colour and texture). There was quite a high minimum order value though IIRC.

If you have no joy with Segal how about the guys working out of the old factory, DC Trim, someone told me they have a lot of "old stock" ?

Martrim near Nantwich are one of the biggest stockists of materials/carpets/vinyl/leather. Worth a try ?

cheers, will give them a try

Just received samples from 'Segal Motor Trimming', very similar to 'WooliesTrim', the brown is a couple of shades too light which is pretty noticeable.. Only other option would be a dark brown fabric dye scratchchin

Don't use water-based dye which needs salt added to fix it. You do not need to know how I know this laugh

Just a quick update, having failed to find the correct shade of brown for the carpet (i tried everywhere!) i opted to try 'fabricoat' colour dye from furniture clinic £10 + £10 to colour match, i sent a sample to them & they matched it best they could, if im being honest it was a shade lighter & took me a couple times using nearly all the dye (even with penetrating fluid laugh) to achieve a close match.

admittedly its not the flawless finish a trimmer would achieve but its pretty good & finished off with some magnolia piping hides any carpet joins wink
